How to efficiently implement VDC?

Research study that suggests the use of BIM can improve VDC implementation:

One of the case study we referred to in this regard, has been mentioned below-

Title: "BIM-Based VDC Process for Construction Projects: A Case Study of Public Sector Projects in Qatar" Authors: Mohamed El-Far, Mahmoud Hawary, and Islam El-adaway Publication: Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, Volume 144, Issue 2, February 2018.

The study examines the use of BIM-based VDC processes in construction projects in Qatar, and analyzes the impact of these processes on project performance. The authors conducted a case study of two public sector projects in Qatar, one with traditional construction processes and the other with BIM-based VDC processes.

The study found that the BIM-based VDC process resulted in significant improvements in project performance compared to the traditional construction process. Specifically, the BIM-based VDC process resulted in:

• Reduced construction time by 17%

• Reduced construction cost by 6%

• Improved quality of work by 18%

• Reduced project changes by 20%

• Improved communication among project stakeholders by 22%

The authors conclude that BIM-based VDC processes can significantly improve project performance, and recommend that construction professionals adopt these processes in their projects.

This study suggests that the use of BIM can improve VDC implementation by reducing construction time and cost, improving quality of work, reducing project changes, and improving communication among project stakeholders.
